About Soul Flight

Soulflight is a musical collaboration of two very unique and gifted musicians: Carolyn Short & Mitra Kostamo.

Carolyn Short:

Carolyn Short grew up playing the piano, and later the church organ. As a young woman, she experienced a panic attack which led her to abandon her music for many years. Later in life, she began to see that the very thing she was avoiding - music- was exactly what she needed to bring about the healing she was seeking. Slowly, one finger at a time, she would let her hands go wherever the music seemed to lead them. Composing music has become a form of therapy for her, and has been a catalyst in her spiritual journey. This journey has brought her full circle - from growing up in the church, to exploring other religious and spiritual philosophies, and now she has found herself at the feet of Jesus Christ. For Carolyn, He is now much more than a historical figure, a metaphor, or a good man. Jesus is who he claimed to be, the Christ, the son of God.

Now Carolyn spends hours every week in her studio, composing new music, and giving herself to prayer and meditation. Carolyn has recorded many, many songs and CD's which can be heard by logging onto her website www.carlyrae.com.

Mitra Kostamo:

The opportunity to collaborate with Carolyn on this project has been a wonderful experience for Mitra. Besides being a seasoned vocalist and musician, Mitra is also a school teacher. Teaching is a tool in which Mitra is able to impart her love of music and life to others. Young and old alike respond well to her vocal techniques. As you listen to Soul Flight you will hear a broad range of vocal dynamics and octaves as she sings. Mitra's angelic voice is a reflection of her soul.

Mitra, like most of us, has not had an easy life, but has found that music, a gift from God, is a refreshing way to connect to the Source. It is her hope that as you listen, you are drawn to look within, and then to look beyond yourself to the One who can make your soul fly. Mitra has CD recordings of her own that you can find out more about by logging onto www.mitrakostamo.com
